Our rent-to-own program helps you work toward homeownership while you settle into a home you love. Here’s how it works:


Step 1: Apply Quickly and Easily

Getting prequalified takes just five minutes, is completely free, and won’t affect your credit score. There’s no commitment, so you can explore your options worry-free.


Step 2: Find the Perfect Home

Once prequalified, we’ll provide you with a home-shopping budget. You can then browse our selection of move-in-ready homes, and with our guidance, choose the one that’s just right for you.


Step 3: Move In Without the Hassle

Divvy owns the homes, so you won’t need to navigate a lengthy closing or compete with other buyers. With an initial payment of 1-2% of the home’s price, you’ll begin saving for your down payment, and you’ll have a guaranteed move-in date.


Step 4: Build Your Down Payment

Enjoy your home while saving toward ownership. Part of your monthly payment goes directly into your future down payment, helping you reach mortgage eligibility within about three years or less.


Step 5: Own Your Home, or Take Your Savings and Move On

When you’re ready, you can purchase your home at a pre-set price you’ll know from the start. Alternatively, if plans change, you can walk away with your savings (minus a small relisting fee) at the end of your lease. If you need more time, eligible residents can renew their lease and continue building toward homeownership.
